My Cousin Evan...

I got a call one night from my aunt saying my cousin Evan was coming to Guatemala. I said GREAT, when is he coming and she said "in two days!!" I just laughed...nothing like being young and impromptu. He had the opportunity to take the place of some one who could not come on the trip. This was a team from their church in TN who have made multiple trips to Chimaltenango. He was not able to come to our house but we were able to go see him. It was so much fun to see him. He is a neat guy who loves the Lord. I am thrilled we got to see him while he was here.

The boys new hobby...

Titus & Isaac have learned to dive down and catch the fresh water crabs that we have here in the lake. They have to swim along side the shore until they see one then dive down and catch it with their hands. Sometimes...well, a lot of times they come home with crab claw bites all on their hands...Titus says "thats just part of catching crabs!!"
Once they catch them they tie them up with the reeds that grow in the edge of the lake. This is how you buy them in the Market, tied up like this.
This is Alejandro, he (his brothers and cousins and friends) and my boys go out everyday around 1:30. Sometimes there are 8 boys swimming around looking for crabs. They take turns taking the crabs home to eat or to Market to sell.
They have some pretty big ones, they try not to catch the little ones, they are saving them for later!!
When it was Titus turn to take the crabs he decided he wanted to cook them for dinner. He cooked them all by himself, Now doesn't this look good? It was delicious...

Our 15th Anniversary...

Today we are celebrating our 15th Anniversary. It's hard to believe we have been married that long. We have had good times, sad times, fun times, & hard times, but through it all we have been together. I can honestly say we are best friends and enjoy being with each other more than any one else. When we have to be apart it makes us appreciate it even more when we are together. Not only are we best friends we are also ministry partners and really enjoy working with each other. I look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for us in the next 15 years!!

Visit from My Parents ~part 1~

On our way to pick up my parents we got caught in road blocks down on the coast. We had to call a fellow missionary to pick them up. We back tracked and finally made it to the capitol 5 hours later....Never a dull moment here in Guatemala!!
After we met up with Mom & Dad we stayed in the capitol for several days while the SETECA Missions Conference was going on. The whole family got to go on the last night. It was neat to see so many people, some I have not seen in years.

The kids (and I) really enjoyed the pool at the hotel.
It was a good little vacation for us, even more fun having Mimi & Grandsir there.

They are the most awesome parents, I am so proud they came down to visit!!
More to come.....
